ABOUT ADRIANA
Adriana De Alba is a bilingual multimedia journalist who is interested in “the now” of today’s journalism industry. Currently, she’s a reporter/anchor at WFAA, the TEGNA-owned ABC affiliate in Dallas-Fort Worth, the nation's 4th largest television news market.
Previously, De Alba was a weekend evening anchor/reporter for WVEC, the ABC affiliate in Norfolk, VA.
During her time with WFAA, De Alba covered the Uvalde mass shooting and Hurricane Ida in New Orleans. De Alba covered the hostage standoff at a Jewish synagogue in Colleyville, Texas from beginning to end.
De Alba is known for landing exclusive interviews. She approaches every story with deep care and compassion.
At WVEC in Norfolk, Virginia, De Alba covered a variety of major stories. In 2018, she traveled to Washington D.C., where she covered the Unite the Right Protest. De Alba covered the mass shooting in Virginia Beach, the black face scandal surrounding Virginia Governor Ralph Northam and the rise in military suicides. De Alba spent a lot of time sharing the stories of migrant farmworkers in Virginia, shedding light on harsh work conditions they endure. De Alba provided coverage of Hurricane Isaias for WVEC in Norfolk and WUSA in Washington, DC.
De Alba graduated summa cum laude at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Arizona State University. There, she earned a Master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. During college, De Alba was a borderlands reporter at Arizona PBS. She interned at CBS News in New York as a foreign desk assignment editor.
From an early age, De Alba saw the impact journalism can have on underrepresented communities, and it inspired her to pursue a career in journalism.
She hopes to bring a voice to the voiceless through her love of storytelling.
